Man Like Me combine indie, rave, grime, ska and hip hop with matter-of-fact lyrics to create an unquestionably youthful British sound. Fronted by mild-mannered 23-year-old Camden pin-up Johnny Langer, Man Like Me have developed into one of the most original and exciting sounds to arise from a new breed of young home grown bands. They follow a lineage of artists such as Ian Dury, The Specials, Hot Chip and The Streets in making the everyday sound extraordinary.
'London Town', MLM's sharp summer track, is an experimental yet infectious blend of new urban pop.
After the release of 'London Town' in April, Man Like Me set out on a festival tour covering stages at Big Chill, Glastonbury. Lovebox and Bestival. Over the summer 'London Town' was also licensed to the Hot Chip 'Bugged Out' compilation.
After getting support from Rob Da Bank, Kissy Sell Out, Annie Mac, Ras Kwarme, and more, we thought it about time to release the work done around the track that by a handful of the most exciting young producers breaking out of the UK club scene.
The summer smash 'London Town', was lucky to be given the support by some very interesting remixes. Doorly, RackNRuin, Foamo and upcoming George Lenton all of which have played a part in getting the catchy hook into the clubs.
Doorly, has laid the foundations this year to solidify himself as one of the UKs primo DJ/Producers. Already having done official remixes for the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Basement Jaxx, Calvin Harris, Kanye West and our very own MLM, this man is going from strength to strength. |
