Man Like Me

Artist:Man Like Me
Title:Lovestruck EP (Remixes)
Label:Black Butter
Man Like Me are no strangers to us here at Black Butter Records, fans of some of their more recent tracks such as 'London Town' we SO had to get involved with this new EP. The band are best known for their ska, grime, indie blend. Their brazen lyrics are less self-conscious than some of their musical counterparts, and revel in the realities, perks and calamity of being a young Londoner. The EP contains three brilliant original tracks - 'Lovestruck', 'Why Bother?' and 'Run Over' but more importantly for your dance floors, a nice selection of mixes for you to get your mitts on. Kill Light are first up, recently debuting on Cheap Thrills, that EP received a rapturous reception and got peeps watching. Stepping up to the plate once again, the duo's garage-rave interpretation of 'Lovestruck' got us bogling away from left to right. Moda Music's *Tom Staar* carries the original and lifts it to starry heights for a proper rave up, whilst for the same track *Brackles* provides the perfect basement vibe that will have your floor tripping out peak time. Our final course is brought to us by *Leatherhead*, who quite a while back provided a sleazy take of a Kissy Sell Out track. Sounding livelier than ever, he gives the instrumentals of 'Run Over' a fuller effect bringing that carnival feeling straight onto your floors.

Title:London Town (Remixes)
Label:Wicky Lindows
Man Like Me combine indie, rave, grime, ska and hip hop with matter-of-fact lyrics to create an unquestionably youthful British sound. Fronted by mild-mannered 23-year-old Camden pin-up Johnny Langer, Man Like Me have developed into one of the most original and exciting sounds to arise from a new breed of young home grown bands. They follow a lineage of artists such as Ian Dury, The Specials, Hot Chip and The Streets in making the everyday sound extraordinary.

'London Town', MLM's sharp summer track, is an experimental yet infectious blend of new urban pop.

After the release of 'London Town' in April, Man Like Me set out on a festival tour covering stages at Big Chill, Glastonbury. Lovebox and Bestival. Over the summer 'London Town' was also licensed to the Hot Chip 'Bugged Out' compilation.

After getting support from Rob Da Bank, Kissy Sell Out, Annie Mac, Ras Kwarme, and more, we thought it about time to release the work done around the track that by a handful of the most exciting young producers breaking out of the UK club scene.

The summer smash 'London Town', was lucky to be given the support by some very interesting remixes. Doorly, RackNRuin, Foamo and upcoming George Lenton all of which have played a part in getting the catchy hook into the clubs.

Doorly, has laid the foundations this year to solidify himself as one of the UKs primo DJ/Producers. Already having done official remixes for the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Basement Jaxx, Calvin Harris, Kanye West and our very own MLM, this man is going from strength to strength.
