First Bombstrikes release of the New Year and they kick things off in some style. After the huge farewell to the much-loved Volume series they show no sign of stopping in the delivery of consistently high quality dancefloor bombs. The label returns for the 3nd volume in their DJ friendly ?Into Battle series' with an EP of absolute monsters once again from 4 different artists. The EP includes tracks from Bombstrikes regular Pimpsoul, alongside label debuts for Parker & Slynk, who need no introduction. Rounding off the EP is a name to watch out for in 2011; Neon Steve.

The unstoppable Bombstrikes does it again. When it comes to delivering dancefloor hits it seems there is simply no one to touch them. The 15th release sees the eagerly awaited return of Aussie Electronic beats maestro Nick Thayer, this time joined by his fellow countryman Will Styles. The team up certainly delivers the goods with this double A sided release. 'Party People' see's Nick & Will flexing their production skills to devastating effect! Combining electro riffs with tight beats, fattened basslines and vocal hooks it has all the hallmarks of being a Bombstrikes classic. Over on the AA side 'Shake Like Ya Mama' continues where Nick's last release left off. Taking a well known hip Hop riff and reworking it alongside tough beats, the trademark Analogue funk fuelled bass and leads. As the titles suggests you will have no choice but to move to this!

Bombstrikes is back again and this time with a slightly different format, but still packing all the dancefloor impact you would expect from the kings of the Funky Breaks scene. Temporarily leaving the 'volume' series behind, the 'Into Battle Ep' features a track on each side from different artists. First up on the A side is the welcome return to Bombstrikes of the devastatingly good Featurecast. His track 'Stick Em Up' kicks and rocks in all the right places showing the hot production skills he is famed for, this is guaranteed to move people! On the Flip is the Bombstrikes debut of Pimpsoul and what a way to announce his arrival. 'The One' is an absolute Bomb of a track giving the well known rock vox a big electronic kick up the ass!

Bombstrikes delivers what will be the last release of the much-loved Volume series and boy does it deliver on this one! (Don't worry this is not the end of Bombstrikes just the volume series!) The label has become a best friend to Djs worldwide through maintaining unbelievably high standards of production and dancefloor impact with each release and this is no exception to that ethos. Volume 20 sees the teaming up of one the label's originators with one of their newest stars, as Mooqee & Pimpsoul combine to devastating effect. With that kind of pedigree it's no surprise that all three tracks on the Ep are such solid party rockers with immense production. First up is 'KEEP POUNDING' which sees the duo get out the scalpel for some seriously clever cutting of the vocals, added to the swingiest of beats and fat synth stabs this is one track destined to be huge. This is followed up on the flip by 'LET IT POP' the electronic reworking of a hip hop monster, with some booty shaking changes to the groove along the way. Then to round things off its Disco time with 'DO IT', which reworks one of the all time guitar riffs over tough beats and analogue synths to bring a fresh take on it with subtle attention to detail, making it dancefloor gold all over again. What a way to wrap up the Volume series with three very different tracks all done with the highest quality and never taking focus off making people get down and have fun.

Bombstrikes returns with the next instalment in the highly acclaimed Volume series. This time the party bombs are from two artists new to the label but who are no strangers to the Funky Breaks Scene BadboE and Prosper. The Dane and Frenchman have already established themselves as key players with a slew of floor rocking releases and DJ shows now they team up with the hottest label around and as you would expect the results do not disappoint!<br /><br />First up on the A side is the incredible Too Hot To Handle. With musicality in abundance, the fattest of basslines and swinging beats topped with sweet guitar licks and vocal hooks this has got classic written all over it. Over on the Flip is the Disco Funk Fuelled Rock the Beat with two mixes to choose from. The original showcases BadboE and Prospers studio talents to the full. Smooth production and sure fire use of the vocal, this will be a friend to Djs all over. Mooqee and Beatvandals show why they are so renowned and respected in the scene with their remix by going straight for the proverbial dancefloor jugular in classic Bombstrikes style tough beats, the big hook and guaranteed dancefloor mayhem This is a BIG 12!

Bombstrikes once again maintains its unbelievably high standards with this, the 19th EP in the volume series. For this release they have something of a Nu Funk dream team with the creative coming together of two of the scenes biggest players, Ali B & Nick Thayer; What a Collaboration! Nick is no stranger to the label with a slew of monsters already on the label but this is the first time for Air records and Kiss Fm Legend Ali B. And the pair do not disappoint. As expected every track on this three track Ep is killer with production values of the highest order. First up is 'Music' which grabs the audience from the very first note of its horn riff and takes them on a Hip Hop and Funk fused dancefloor workout, instant classic. This is followed up on the flip by the amazing groover 'N E Way', with the fattest of basses it tears up everything in its path. 'Back To You' a forward thinking bass heavy monster of a track then rounds off the package. All in all this is classic Bombstrikes, pushing the sound forward but maintaining its appeal and dancefloor edge. This has to be one of the strongest releases available at the moment!

Following hot on the heels of the outstanding Pimpsoul ep, Bombstrikes once again maintain their scene leading formula. This time out it's the turn of Nick Thayer to deliver the dancefloor goodies. In a style very much his own, Nick raises the bar even higher with this incredibly strong three-track ep. There is no messing about on this EP "Do You Want more" on the A side hits hard. With vocal hooks and guitars kicking the track off in fine style before the almighty lead synth hits with guaranteed head nodding approval. For our money this is an absolute monster. Over on the flip, first up is "Rhythm Method" which brings Nick's trademark swing and movement to the proceedings. Vocals play perfectly with the synth and horn riffs to ensure plenty of dancefloor ass shaking will follow. Rounding things off nicely is the bass heavy groover "Ladies Love Cool Jams" which is so devastatingly executed it is bound to hit the right spots.

Here we go again... Feature Funk Vol.4 is now ready to devastate dancefloors all over the funky planet. We have spread the range of music genres again on this one, from breaks to house but always with our unique funkin' flavour. Let it spin! CMC & Silenta rock it up again with a smashing mixture of Hot Chilli, a dash of surfing Johnson and heavy dosage of a recognizable DMX vox. "California Johnson" lives from his impulsive beats, pumping bassline and a hook that goes straight to the feet and legs. Zamali's driving his fresh and funky/breaks/house tune with conviction. "L'oiseau Bleu" is a perfect example of running drums, a splash of Latin flavour, dope funky guitars and plenty of sunshine to keep the winter blues away. On the flip you'll find a funk based breaks tune from Mr.Konfuze & Lunatic. "Rock da Freak", Working its magic on every funky dancefloor and getting the crowds wanting more. A catchy bassline, rocking drum sequence combined with smooth vocals sets this tune on fire. Quincy Joints & Cakes took a vocal that perfectly describes this tune "we kicking the flow". "Bobby good love" was made for the funk headz to get a lovely toy for the turntables. Hot and sexy beats with a skipping arrangement makes this track perfectly rounded for the ladies and gents to get there groove on.

100% bass heft guaranteed with the latest release from Dublin's !Kaboogie crew, featuring Ed Devane, Mad EP, The Banker and Sarsparilla. Hot off the release off his debut album 'Molten Membrane', Ed Devane brings the noise with the massive 'Playtime', one that's been tested at multiple parties the last few months with awesome results - just wait for the half-time drop! After mashing up the dance for !Kaboogie's club nights, Mad EP's 'Bass Crunchers' is a full booty workout that's sure to see some curious shapes develop on the floor. A master of mashups and bass-heavy programming, Dublin's Banker makes his vinyl debut with 'Badman'. This one's been killing it at parties, if you're wanting to get the place on a half-step skank, pack it. Finally - with two albums under his belt for Alphabet Set - Sarsparilla makes his !Kaboogie debut in style. Previously featured on his 'Karahee' CD, 'The Count' features his signature sharp production over some killer classic electro stylings.

Varying in styles on an overall contemporary bass theme, the debut release from the fantastically-named Surely Bassy Records comes in the form of a four track EP featuring four new producers. The first track is provided by London based producer Glentron. 'Cast a Light' sets the tone, with shuffling drums, chopped vocal harmonies and soothing bass line, exploring similar minimalist garage ground and in equally effective fashion as the mighty Spatial. Mepham takes it deeper with his contribution, 'Shack'; a haunting soundscape of atmospheric delayed techno with pounding bass, eerie sampling and progressive undertone, riding an emphasised stepper rhythm. Isaac Martin delivers a more experimental house edge with his track, 'A New Dawn (Oh Baby)'. It's driving 2-step beat and warm jets of rising melodic synth are sure to drive the dancefloor, while propulsive sub and soundsystem / deejay effects add extra flavoursome punch. Leeds based A. Ashdown closes the EP with his deep and melancholy drift through gallic themes on the shuffling, Clubroot-esque 'Stems'. So far these tracks have been received well by DJs and producers, with Glentron's 'Cast a Light' featured at number two in Dom Servini's Allo Love Ten chart for November, and the release has been gaining radio play on London's Colourful Radio and Sub FM, as well as plenty of club play across the country. With several more equally high grade questing releases in the can, Surely Bassy is definitely a label to listen out for in 2011.

Je M'en Fish is one of Belgium's largest and most active organisations working in the field of electronic music. Having produced numerous compilation CDs and DVDs, and staged countless live events over the last decade, it evolved into a fully-fledged vinyl and digital label in 2010. Their programme of 12" releases spotlights the young and growing pool of Belgian talent in dubstep and bass production, and the first pressing to enter into wider distribution in partnership with Cargo is a head-turning three tracker that combines rhythmic elegance with full-on floor-burning impact. Opening the show is Janner's 'Proteus', a driving uptempo number that has a ring of Frankie Bones-style early 90s hip-house within its insistent 2-step rhythm, while the ghost of speed garage also makes its presence felt. Coloured by bright descending keys, this track's real power comes from a looping and pyschedelically shifting sub-bass riff that eschews dark moodiness in favour of a more rich and flavourful vibe, while the swung drum patterns keep a steadily infectious dancefloor energy. Belgian master of the bass art BunZer0 follows with a new VIP remix of 'Second Meeting', the original version of which appeared on the first Je M'en Fish 12". This track combines a stuttering heavy kick drum with jazzy elastic bass fills, chiming Italo-house piano chords, and multi-layered futuristic synth melodies, to create an almost euphoric interpretation of low-end dance. Finally, Manouvre contributes 'Mr Moody's Morning Madness', an echoing and spacious cut which is most emphatically all about the drums. The delayed and decaying techno stabs and complex stepper drums come together to conjour up images of Maurizio remixed in double-time by Patrick Pulsinger. Ultimately, 'Je M'en Fish 002 EP' showcases a trio of diverse, intelligent and uniquely European perspectives on today's club-tooled bass music scene.
