Hero Records are proud to announce the release of their latest limited edition 45 from Germany's funk masters Mash & Munkee. Having previously remixed Hero No.7's 'Keeping It Real?', Mash & Munkee's David Hanke (aka Unifairfly/Renegades & Kolja Starkowski aka Deli-Kutt from Wuppertal in Germany) returns to the label to release another 2 tracks of breakbeat driven, b boy- flavoured, future funk classics.

Taken from their forthcoming album on Hero Records, the A-side track'Superbad' is exactly that, with badass breaks, dope horns, funkyflute, sleazy guitar, fat bass and groovy organ combining to form oneof the heaviest slices of dancefloor funk you're likely to hear this year.

On the b-side David remixes their track 'The Good Vibe' in his Renegades of Jazz alter-ego. The original version of the track wasreleased by Jack To Phono Records on 7" in 2010 and this remix for2011 turns up the summer vibes, with jazzy guitar and piano added tothe Renegades' trademark heavy funk breaks that have made his previous singles on Wass Records and Hiperbole Records, and his remixes of artists such as Kid Loco and Hidden Jazz Quartet, such sought after releases.

If you love to get up to get down, then this is the release for you.If you don't then you are out of luck, as you won't be able to sitstill once you hear either of these tracks! More funk than a trunk of drunk skunks in your bunk!

Unifairfly & Deli-Kutt are two german producers from Bad Segeberg and Wuppertal. David (Unifairfly) runs a radio show called Rebel Radio aired in the area Kiel/Lubeck presenting all new stuff from the depths of modern funk music. Kolja (Deli-Kutt) is deejaying since 96 concentrating on NuJazz, Downbeat, Soul and good ol' funky stuff. They got to know each other through the music database discogs, where they found out about the similarities of their favours. They swapped their recent material and quickly noticed the potential of teaming up for musical reasons. Mash & Munkee was founded. Put Funk as the main ingredient and add Jazz, Soul, Dub and Hip Hop as spice and you'll taste what Mash & Munkee's music is all about. Their tracks get unearthed in nightly sessions on computer and phone, always swapping the next addition or change in the arrangement. After building up their myspace profile with great feedback on their first tracks, both considered regular meetings as prerequisite to improve their productions. In late 2006 the label Backslide Records asked for liscensing two of their track for bar compilations and now they are working on their second EP to be released next year.

For our 24th release we wanted to go back to our classic Funk Weapons roots, and to do that we bring you Mash & Munkee aka David Hanke & Kolja Starkowski from Germany. They have produced three slices of supreme nu-funk goodness for all you break beat loving freaks. First off we start with 'Work it Out', a full on funk fest of horns, funky bass, and enough cracking break-beats to satisfy the nimblest of b-boys. 'Giving you the Funk' does just that, complete with a jumping live bass-line, building horns and hip hop vocals and groove that eventually builds up to a nice fat synth bass-line that takes the track to the next level. 'Make A Difference' gets all Ron Burgundy on us with some funky flute and smooth blaxplotation style horns and of course another funky bass-line to keep the kids body rocking. Finally we round out the package with Neighbour's remix of 'Make a Difference', who remixes the track in his signature future-boogie style, complete with honking bass-line and smooth chords and injects back in the horns and flute to make the whole thing jam perfect for those late night roller-disco vibes.

Hero Records return after their last offering from Hero No.7 and Mash & Munkee, this time slowing the pace for a downtempo funky hip hop double-sider from Savages & Unifairfly.

Savages, aka Nandor Kurtossy from Hungary, is a 28 year old producer who released his debut album "Five Finger Discount" on Chameleon Records in late 2008 to great response from all over the globe. Unifairfly, aka David Hanke, is a 32 year old producer from Germany who started out with a local radio show and then begun to produce hip hop-flavoured funk tunes as one half of Mash & Munkee and dancefloor jazz tracks under his other solo moniker Renegades of Jazz on Smoove's Wass Records.

After getting in touch for a remix, Nandor and David discovered similar tastes for producing funk, soul and jazz influenced hip hop tunes and a shared love for the sound of labels like Puma Strut, 7 Hills and Breakin' Bread which in turn lead to the duo collaborating on the pair of deep down and dirty funk tracks you'll find on this release.

The a-side "Blow Up Your Box" features funky bass and drums breaks and catchy hip hop vocal samples and is dedicated to all B-Boys and B-Girls. The flipside track "Mean Streets" is a funk-filled cinematic, gangster hip hop tune inspired by the film of the same name. Two tracks of funk for your feet, that will appeal to lovers of funk, hip hop and breaks who like to get down and dirty.

Hero No.7 return on their own Hero Records imprint with a brand new remix of 'Keeping It Real?' by Germany's breaks superstars Mash & Munkee. The original version of 'Keeping It Real?' was a bona fide b-boy classic, gathering support from top international DJs such as Coldcut & Andy Smith, and was featured alongside Eric B & Rakim, The Roots & James Brown on The Herbaliser's "FabricLive 26" mix-CD.

It was also used by champion breakdancers the Bad Taste Cru when they represented the UK at the 2008 Battle Of The Year World Finals. This remix for 2011 sees Mash & Munkee (aka Unifairfly / Renegades of Jazz and Deli-Kutt) turn the notch up and take the track into nu-funk territory with new drums, guitars, fat horns and swift scratchimg.

In a remix exchange, Hero No.7 have in turn reworked Mash & Munkee's track "Keep On Movin'" and turned it into a cut'n'paste extravaganza, stripping back the original track to its musical roots and topping it off with heavier breaks, percussion and vocal samples. The track is topped off with some deft turntable action from legendary scratch DJ Krash Slaughta (II Tone Committee / Monkey Mafia / Killa Instinct) who expertly cuts up more musical delights.
