Title:The Things (Mooqee & Beatvandals Mixes)
Label:Unknown
Randa and The Soul Kingdom released 'The Things' swinging funky disco 12 (FSR092) on Freestyle Records early June 2011, a pretty straight ahead affair produced and guitar scratched by one of the busiest men in the music bizznizz: Lance Ferguson, the man responsible for Freestyle soul-jazz organ trio Cookin On 3 Burners, as well as The Bamboos & Lanu projects on Tru Thoughts Recordings. For this booty style remix they have taken Randa's outstanding vocal and completely reworked the track into an electro funk bomb. Toughening things up but losing non of the funk the mixes aim straight for the dancefloor.

Dr. Strafe, funk master extraordinaire and all round electro b-boy, is the man behind this finely tuned blend of Funk, Old Skool Hip-Hop, Electro, Breaks and Rave with a sprinkling of speed garage, D&B, and a tablespoon of groovy shiznit! Taken from the forthcoming Freestyle album 'Like In The Deal' the lead track 'Vice City' sets the musical scene for Dr Strafes world where the sounds of 70's movies, car chases, bank heists plus Motown sounds from the 60's and 70's blend into a highly individual mash up of dance floor delightfulness!
Artist:Deep Street Soul
Title:Chilli Fried
Label:Freestyle Records
Following hot on the heels of Australias Cookin On 3 Burners and Randa & the Soul Kingdom, Freestyles latest antipodean signings Deep Street Soul specialize in the ruffest, downest, gut wrenching, beat heavy fownk.

Chilli Fried is a mini album featuring seven exclusive tracks that are NOT included on the groups forthcoming Freestyle album and what corking slices of gritty, raw and rocking funk numbers they are too. The title track is an imposing, stomping dance floor monster which is followed by the contrastingly mellow, electric piano led Movin. Rollergirl comes at you like The Meters on crack whilst Nasty is just that, but in a deep down dirty groovy way that will leave you needing a shower. The final cut, Loose Caboose, rounds off this release by attempting to peel off the top of your head and swirl your brains about, and it succeeds!

Deep Street Soul are yet another quality addition to the Freestyle Records roster of artists, they are proud to be punchy, glad to be gritty, delighted to be so dynamic and fantastically forceful. They are raw, real and street, dont say we didn't warn you!

Artist:Lack Of Afro
Title:My Groove Your Move
Label:Freestyle Records
"The simply stunning follow up to the highly acclaimed debut album 'Press On', Lack Of Afro combines his live musicianship, top notch studio production skills with rappers and vocalists into a skillful combination of compositions blending funk, hip hop and soul into a steamy stew of a breakbeat bonanza".

As a multi instrumentalist, in-demand producer and re-mixer, a DJ with his finger on the cutting edge of contemporary sounds, and an ear tastefully cocked to the hippest soul, jazz and funk music from the 60's and 70's, Adam Gibbons, the young man at the centre of the Lack Of Afro phenomenon, has already established an unrivalled reputation as one of the most crucial names at work in funk and dance music today.

The LOA story began back in 2006 after excited word spread to the Freestyle Records offices about the sounds Adam was creating, Freestyles' head honcho DJ Adrian Gibson instantly signed him and released 'the stunning debut single "Wait A Minute". One of the labels fastest selling 12"s ever, it has gone onto sell assive numbers worldwide and appeared on countless compilations. The subsequent 2007 album "Press On" fulfilled his early promise, with Adam playing nearly all the instruments himself. Hailed by iDJ magazine as "one of the greatest albums of the modern funk era" the release passed into contemporary music folklore.

Now, in 2009 with 'My Groove, Your Move', Lack Of Afro dispels the 'difficult second album' syndrome without even breaking a sweat. Featuring vocal contributions from the amazing Roxie Ray (Dojo Cuts) on the suitably sultry numbers 'Closer To Me' and 'Tell Me What Happens Now' In addition You Tube hip hop prodigies Wax & Herbal T bust out all over the slamming club killer 'International' and 'Suspicious Glow'.

Whilst retaining the signature Lack Of Afro elements of deep dish drums, Nick Radfords rootsy guitar picking, ex Ocean Colour Scenes' Damon Minchellas' thundering bass, spliced with intelligent use of rare samples "My Groove, Your Move" is without doubt an even more confident, assured and mature collection than its predecessor. This album is a high octane, trail blazing and innovative venture that is comfortable with it's own past, our present and everyone's' future.
