Title:Radio Free DC Remixes Vol.5
Label:Fort Knox
Fifth single in Fort Knox Five's 'Radio Free DC Remixed' series. The first track on this 45 is from FabricLive resident DJ Ali B who gives wah-wah guitars and horns for a funky remix of 'Funk 4 Peace'. On side B, Boca 45 aka Scott Hendy offers vocoded vocals over a 60s soul review on his work of 'The Party Pushers'.
Artist:DJ Mischief
Title:Itzsoweezee / Satisfied?
Label:My First Moth
Manchester based beat-maker DJ Mischief has been up to no good, jacking a few well-known hip hop acapellas to rework for this essential release on new label MyFirstMoth Records. First up, he ditches the laid-back beats of De La Soul's '96 classic 'Itzsoweezee (Hot)' for some funky breaks and syncopated Hammond organ pops, guaranteed to get those feet shuffling on the dancefloor! Then over on the flip J-Live gets a few things off his chest over some solid jazzy head-nodding beats, with the poignant lyrics and haunting backing vocals of 'Satisfied'' perfectly matching Mischief's solid production. Limited to 500 copies worldwide.

Title:Radio Free DC Remixes Vol. 6
Label:Fort Knox
The sixth single in Fort Knox Five's RADIO FREE DC Remixed series start things off with fellow D.C. Brethren, Thomas Blondet aka TOM B of Rhythm & Culture Records. He tranforms 'Sao Funky' into a cool latin lounge jam. Heavy basslines and big percussion will put this tune into many dj boxex or serato crates. Next up, long time friends and super up & comers FUZZBOX drop a rumbling floor filler with their mix of 'Papa Was Stoned'. With a rumbling beat under a bombastic horn section, this rework builds on the original's Blaxploitation vibes. This mix will solidify the FUZZBOX name with crafting phat and phunky beats! We have long been admirers of STEREOTYP'S massive bass style and we could not think of a better person to take on 'The Wonder Strikes Again'. Stereotyp initially turned in two sketches that were so dope, we asked for them both. Version 1 is dark glitched out electro dub workout. Version 2 revisits the song with a smoother minimal take. Both mixes are sure to get any dancehall bubbling.
Artist:Gizelle Smith & The Mighty Mocambos
Title:Working Woman - The Kenny Dope Mixes
Label:Kay-Dee
Kenny Dope and Germany's Mighty Mocambo's meet again. This time, London-based singer Gizelle Smith's 'Working Woman' gets an overhaul. The raw old school funk sound of Mocambo has caught the attention of many DJs and funk enthusiasts worldwide. The group's interpretation of the Furious Five's 'The Message', released under the pseudonym Mighty Mo & The Winchester Seven on the Finnish fantasy label Peace Street, was re-mixed by Kenny for the label's last release. With the release of 'Working Woman' it'll be a toss up as to which is the stronger single. After the needle sets into the plastic Gizelle immediately calls the drummer into action, the groove and her vocal soon ensue after this soon to be juggled lead courtesy of Mr. Dope. The flipside, an instrumental version, gets pushed as Mr. Dope takes the multiple tracks to task and gives the drums a whole new sound.

Title:Bombstrikes 15
Label:Bombstrikes Records
The unstoppable Bombstrikes does it again. When it comes to delivering dancefloor hits it seems there is simply no one to touch them. The 15th release sees the eagerly awaited return of Aussie Electronic beats maestro Nick Thayer, this time joined by his fellow countryman Will Styles. The team up certainly delivers the goods with this double A sided release. 'Party People' see's Nick & Will flexing their production skills to devastating effect! Combining electro riffs with tight beats, fattened basslines and vocal hooks it has all the hallmarks of being a Bombstrikes classic. Over on the AA side 'Shake Like Ya Mama' continues where Nick's last release left off. Taking a well known hip Hop riff and reworking it alongside tough beats, the trademark Analogue funk fuelled bass and leads. As the titles suggests you will have no choice but to move to this!

Title:Dare Man / Show Me Dub
Label:Nice Up!
Another banger from the NICE UP! camp, following the massive "Blud & MIA" and "Skanking In The Way of Control" with DJ Shepdog delivering an uptempo take on everybody's favourite cartoon band, Gorillaz. Heavy on the horns, drums and sirens, this ska infused monster should NICE UP! any dance. Never has Shaun Ryder sounded more righteous! Over on the flip, Brighton's very own Black Grass serves up an 80's/digital inspired take on the hardy perennial "Show Me Love" by Robin S, dropping some simple keys and dutty bass into the mix. Did someone say summer is here?

All tracks are de-pipped with minimal pith and added juicy bits. Maximized, marmalised, shredded and preserved using the finest ingredients from the fruitful pastures of our pear shaped planet. Title:Everybody Move
Label:Legere recordings
Coming straight out of Hamburg in an original funk style, this is Pitch & Scratch. The duo know what the funk is all about: multi-instrumentalist DJ Mzuzu was a funkateer from the start, while DJ Suro found his love for funk in the crates he has been digging since the 90s. 'Everybody Move' is their first release and of course it arrives as a big black vinyl. Remix pressure comes courtesy of Lack Of Afro (Freestyle Records / UK) and Patchworks (Favorite / France) who give 'Everybody Move' a nice boost of heavy drummer madness (in LOA's case) and delightful boogie heaven (in Patchworks' case). The bonus track 'Mzuzu Walk' is a deep down Afro funk session.
Artist:Paul White
Title:One Eye Open EP
Label:One Handed
The other jewel in the One Handed crown, London beat king Paul White is not, contrary to rumour, the alter-ego of Bullion, but squarely is the embodiment of all that is good about a new generation of producers, and he's chasing up his label mate's massive debut 12-inch release with one of his own, surely destined for equal intant-demand status. Featuring three extended tracks from his forthcoming CD-only album 'The Strange Dreams Of Paul White', and two sweet new exclusive bumpers - including a hot Bullion remix - the 'One Eye Open' EP is totally out there on the celestial planes of raw intuitive wonky instrumental brilliance and bound to find its way into all kinds of selector's lists. Mr White is already a firm favourite with the likes of Gilles Peterson, Benji B and Mary Anne Hobbs (he recently served up a brilliant killer session on her show), and is gaining momentum worldwide with every fresh beat.

Title:Partio La Tabla
Label:Lovemonk12
On the A-side you get a slab of Latin-tinged breakbeat coolness from THE surfer dude on the Spanish underground scene. The B-side is quite an aptly titled tune which combines a Cab Callowayesque ditty with a tasty hip-hop beat, thus spreading the "buen rollo" as they say in Spain.

Title:Producer 2 Part 1
Label:Fat City
This is the first 7" in a series of 4 featuring tracks taken from the forthcoming Producer 2 album set for release in the Autumn. Producer 2 features a collection of new and resurfaced tracks focusing on the world's finest and most invigorating beat makers, bringing together all the most exciting elements around today from Hip Hop, electronica and beyond in the post - Dilla generation. Featured artists include Dabrye, Mike Slott, Carlos Nino. Daedelus, Illum Sphere, Andy Votel, Bullion, Ras G & Low Limit. This 7" includes "Home" by Mike Slott, one half of Heralds Of Change and well known for his releases on All City. He's recently remixed Flying Lotus and is in the proces of completing a collaborative project with Martyn. Mike is also the studio brains behind many of Rustie and Hudson Mohawke's best recordings. "Home" a reflective piece incorporating clipped drums, fuzzed stabs and layered haunting melodic vocal sounds, all creating a complex and warmly satisfying groove. Dabrye proabably needs less introduction. After releasing the album "Two / Three" on Ghostly he has been concentrating more on his James T Cotton minimal techno productions. But back to the hiphop here, with "Walk" he drops an unstoppable beat utilising extra wide drums that bound through the track interwoven with an almost choral flanged vocal and whipping filtered synth sounds.
Artist:Tal M. Klein
Title:Rubs & Remixes V.2
Label:Aniligital Music
After releasing and touring with his Plastic Starfish project, Tal M. Klein is now working on new projects such as 'The Sly Players' with Slim from Goodgroove and 'The Disco Builders' with Deepcuts and Hilly of The Hotness. But we found a bunch of unreleased remixes both by and for Tal in our vaults and worked to put together an amazing package of fresh TMK beats to funk up your world. Starting things off we've got two unreleased Tal M. Klein remixes for two fantastic tracks: First Tal rubs Da Wiesel's Goodgroove classic 'Boogaloo Stomp' with big soul drums and a disco bassline. Did we say disco? Well, the K'BONUS dancefloor epic 'Uh Yeah' gets Tal's disco dub rub with sick percussive solos and tasty keyboard riffs. Next up, CMC & Silenta of Manmade dial up the funk with their heavy remix of Tal's 'Crawlin Up The Spout' featuring Penny on the mic and some crazy live instrumentation. On the B-side we feature all three unreleased remixes of 'Brincando el Tiburon' by funky beat luminaries such as Valique who brings Moscow's IskraDisco! crew to deliver the deepest groove on the record, and Basement Freaks who treats the original with straight up mellow funk flavors, and last (but not least) is Mash & Munkee's super blaxploitation inspired funk breaks remix!
Artist:Quincy Bright
Title:My Ghetto Looked Like This
Label:Truth & Soul
With the second volume of 'My Ghetto Look Like This', Quincy Bright offers another 7" gem loaded up with 12 sample-driven beats. In addition to his MPC work, he layers it all with live instrumentation and the same touch that made the first volume of his unique blend of sampled hip hop/soul such a success. This gives his compositions a unique, human element that is lacking from many types of programmed music. Presented as a 7" at 33rpm with a full-colour picture sleeve, these individual beats and skits provide a personal look into the enigmatic mind of Quincy Bright.
Artist:Ghost
Title:Freedom Of Thought EP# 1
Label:Breakin Bread
The return of Ghost, one of the UK's most forward thinking beat producers, showing he can move outside of the hip hop genre. Boundaries are meant to be broken and limits are there to be pushed. Ghost isn't afraid to challenge all preconceptions of what being a producer means and refuses to be pigeonholed by a single category. Known for his hip hop production and remix work for the likes of Nicole Willis he now ventures into unchartered territory with an EP. Ghost makes a leap into the unknown with his latest project the 'Freedom Of Thought EP #1'. Overall his music still has that boom bap feel but the deeper, layered sound shows how much this producer has evolved. Epic music all round on these five tracks which has a dramatic cinematic feel to it. Tempos rise and fall as Ghost chops the beats and adds his own music to fit what he's feeling, from strings to brass and back again.

Artist:The Giallos Flame
Title:Euro Slash EP
Label:2600 Recordings
2600 Recordings is proud to present the latest release from The Giallos Flame, continuing his dedication to the sounds of 70's Italian horror soundtracks, from Goblin horror funk to Morricone psyched out giallo jazz. Presented on a limited deluxe 7 inch single featuring hand stamped and individually numbered packaging, the Euro Slash EP follows up the critically acclaimed releases on the Analog Screams and DC Recordings labels. The release continues TGF's obsession with Italo-Horror soundtracks across 8 tracks which recall Carpenter-esque synth soundscapes and Fabio Frizzi style jazz-funk oddities all underpinned by the type of heavy rolling drum breaks Malcolm Catto would be proud of. The intricacies of the tracks on this EP are best explored by in-depth repeated listens, yet the heavy percussion gives an instant accessibility, especially on the tracks selected for the 7 inch, ensuring a place in every discerning DJ's crate. The Euro Slash EP lies perfectly between the authenticity of Finders Keepers unearthed concept albums and the analogue obsessive releases of labels like DC Recordings (who released The Giallos Flame's Live From Dunwich EP in 2008). This is a highly limited release aimed at a wide record buying audience from obscure soundtrack collectors to hip hop-heads looking for something original and authentic.

Artist:Smoove & Turrell
Title:You Don't Know
Label:Jalapeno Records
Already establishing their credentials as a legendary partnership of vocals with productions skills, Smoove & Turrell are ready to make the jump from up and coming to all conquering. Their first single brought the then-unknown duo from anonymity to being Radio 2 favourites in just a few short weeks. Muso DJ's such as Mark Lamarr, Craig Charles, Marc Radcliffe, Janice Long and Stuart Maconie all jumped on the exuberant northern soul that was "I Can't Give You Up." So the only question Do the boys have more tunes as good as the first? The answer a resounding yes. "You Don't Know" is a beautiful song with a driving beat. Like the best soul records the music is uplifting while the subject matter is melancholy. In a word? it's a classic. Sampling an obscure Lynsey De Paul record from the 70's would normally be a big issue for a band without a big label or a heavyweight lawyer but not so in this case. When Lynsey heard the record she loved how they had used her music and intervened directly with her record company and publishers to make sure the deal happened. The result is worth the effort. Mixes come from dutch electronic funkers Kraak & Smaak and Good Groove breakbeat legend Featurecast.
Artist:Radio Trip
Title:Computers Singing Ep
Label:Jalapeno Records
All conquering live funk band The Apples have a secret that is about to become very well known. Radiotrip is the studio project of two of their founding members MixMonster (Uri Wertheim) and Schoolmaster (Ofer Tal). Their wide range of influences led them to create a unique musical blend unconstrained by anything except their imaginations. Music Heads is the second album from Radiotrip a project that preceded the international fame of the Apples. "Computers Singing" is the six track EP to precede their second album "Music Heads", which contains elements of Turntabalism, blues, jazzed--p breaks, Funk beats and psychedelic samples. A journey into vinyl culture with hundreds of records from various countries and eras cut & paste into one blossoming, cheerful trip. The six tracks on the EP are the most dancefloor friendly cuts from the album and include a special "samples & sounds" track where the boys very kindly give up their samples for the greater good of their fellow turntablists.
Artist:Para
Title:Rescue Me
Label:Breakin Bread
Para is the South West's answer to Cut Chemist. Busting straight out of Swindon he's well known around the UK for his battle weapons, turntablist skills and storming DJ sets. On the A side Para shows he's maturing beyond hip hop tracks. This is a radio record that builds as he brings in different elements of the catchy, up tempo beat and dares you not to nod your head. To top it all off he brings in Caitlin from Slo-Mo for vocal duties and she delivers a classy and heartfelt performance. The B side is a cut and paste record like only Breakin Bread can do. Beats to make you dance, hooks galore and some cutting and scratching. Para fits nicely into the Breakin Bread stable as another purveyor of quality, breakbeat tinged, funky as hell, dancefloor music.

Artist:Tal M. Klein
Title:Crawlin Up The Spout
Label:Aniligital Music
Kicking things off in 2009, Aniligital Music presents a new groove from Tal M. Klein. "Crawlin Up The Spout" is a 112 BPM funk bouncer with disco and broken beat flavors. The track builds to an intoxicating licensed vocal loop from Tony Joe White's swamp-funk classic "Stud-Spider". Good for both head nodding and bottom shaking, "Crawlin Up The Spout" is a flexible track beneficial to bags of DJ's specializing in funk, disco, and broken beat. The first remix is by Japanese beats luminary ALTZ. With releases on both DFA and Bear Funk under his belt, the man's style hardly needs any introduction. ALTZ's remix is a long deep disco funk journey with intoxicating rhythms and synths. Next up, from a man with over 20 years experience as a musician in various forms, KidGusto's remix draws from his many influences to create an intricate and moving, but most importantly funky remix. His rub is a testament to the TrueGrooves sound with heavy funk breaks, scratches, and tasty twists and turns that are sure to own the dancefloor. The third remix on the 12" is by rising Belgian superstar Zamali. He made a name for himself on both the blog scene and in the DJ community for his trademark soulful boots with Motown flavor. Zamali's remix is a sweet balearic funk groove perfect for dusk sets.O232

Title:Akama
Label:Keep Up!
Keep Up!, returns fresh for 2009 with another 45 of beaty, bassy goodness. KEEP001 and KEEP002 received massive radio and club support from such people as Mr Scruff, DJ Food and Tim Love Lee so Keep Up!'s 3rd release stays true to the previous instalments with something for everyone. This double A-sider mixes dancefloor action one side and neck-snapping beats on the flip. Tom Central builds on the success of smash The World Famous with Akama (with long-time friend and collaborator Ben Kaitain Leighton) and Ave Blaste and Lopez team up for solid soulful hip hop with Change the Channel in the first of many collaborations to come. Akama sounds like the end product of what might happen if Tipper befriended Miles from Breakestra backstage at a music festival. Using Tom Central's trademark raw uptempo hip hop backbeats and big bass, Akama drops hard with alternating, wobbly b-lines throughout the track. Fx fizz around as the rhythm and bass twists and turns. Guaranteed to make a giant thud on any dancefloor in the heat of the night! Change The Channel maintains the hip hop sound but on a cinematic, scale. Dramatic brass, string stabs and live bass hold down the groove. With a dap of 60s psychedelia and modern production, Change The Channel is perfect for those late night sessions or warming up your basement party.
Artist:Gripper
Title:Whats The Big Idea?
Label:ATIC
Gripper's first single 'What's The Big Idea?' has been the opening track in Aim's DJ sets since it was first pressed up, its combination of heavy psychsurf beats, mellow guitar, synth quelches and the ominous vocals of George Bush Snr. Guaranteed to rock any dancefloor. B-side '3 Minutes' is also taken from 'A Life Of Consummate Ease' and features tuff KRS style hip-hop beats under a heavy distorted guitar riff and obscure vocal snippets. Another club stinger. Also featured on this release is the non album track, 'The Right To Know', a dark, percussive heavy, UFO themed exclusive.
Artist:DJ Sun
Title:Para ep
Label:Soular Productions
Para EP' is the continuation of an extraordinary journey with the prolific and award winning artist, DJ Sun. Born in Rotterdam and raised in Surinam, our guide on this trip is revisiting the roots of his bloodlines in South America and the revolutionary spirit of the self-liberated Maroons. For these descendants of escaped slaves, the Opete, or vulture, is a messenger who takes sacrifices to the gods. These scavengers are known to spread their wings in order to drench them in sunshine and were deemed sacred by the Maroons who watched them circle the skies incessantly. 'Para EP' evokes the deity of the Opete and the lush tropical shores of Surinam with a blend of intelligent and effortless grooves. With his first EP, DJ Sun's listeners quickly learned they could trust him to take them on an international exploration of oldschool soul, jazz, reggae and disco. Now, consistent as a heartbeat and as warm as his memories of home, 'Para EP' propels listeners to go even further with him as he integrates the roots and traditions of his background with contemporary and at times futuristic methodology. An allstar ensemble of trailblazing and inspirational collaborators help provide the diversity and intensity. DJ Sabo (Sol Selectas) lends his funky musical talents to creating a rhythmically pulsating remix of 'Para'. San Francisco's worldrenowned DJ/Producer J Boogie also takes on 'Para', delivering his own mixup of culture, soul, and entrancing hypnotic beats. The Genre Jazz (Presto and Mhax Montes) remix of 'Dubai' even further mellows out the sultry track; as veterans of downtempo and hip hop production, they incorporate heavy drum programs and basslines with a contrast of obscure and melodic samples. On 'Free', DJ Sun, much like the Opete that inspires him, circles, hops and takes off on deceptive and surprising flights, harmoniously exploring both new and ancestral terrain. Each of the six tracks on 'Para EP' is guaranteed to keep you not just moving, but flying.

Title:Deep Fried Muffalata
Label:Zirkus

Title:Woman
Label:Music For The People
Woman' has been a previous favourite with DJs like Tim 'Love' Lee and Ursula 1000. Now it's back on the Music For The People label, with a laidback lounge house vibe to warm up dancefloors on these cold winter evenings. On the flip side, 'Where Stars Are Born' is a genre defying mix of influences. A psychedelic electro, rave, golden-era hip hop sampling beast of a tune!
Artist:Mr Confuse
Title:Right On
Label:Freesoul 45
How good is this? Mr. Confuse shows his talent to build hard hittin' beats in a conscious hiphop style. Drop the needle for this funky beatmonster and a prancing piano hook with classy sax stabs sure will infect you. Cool down on a massive horns break until the saxophone steps into a dirty chopped Public Enemy style. Flip for the slow burning funk groover 'Low Life'. Starting with some catchy stabs this souldchild turns into an echo from the past. Well balanced with some delicious brass parts and rare used effects this is a real vintage style headnodder. Sample madness galore! Background: Mr. Confuse is no more a stranger to the modern funk-scene. In September 2008 he released his first solo album "Feel The Fire" on Legere Recordings with great reactions from all over the globe. While "Feel The Fire" features a lot of live musicians, he gets back to his roots with "Right on / Low Life" by strictly sampling. Well known for his heavy beat constructions Mr. Confuse is always bridging the gap between heavy funk and modern beats. Right on Mr. Confuse!

Title:Wake Up EP
Label:Backslide Records
Unifairfly & Deli-Kutt are two german producers from Bad Segeberg and Wuppertal. David (Unifairfly) runs a radio show called Rebel Radio aired in the area Kiel/Lubeck presenting all new stuff from the depths of modern funk music. Kolja (Deli-Kutt) is deejaying since 96 concentrating on NuJazz, Downbeat, Soul and good ol' funky stuff. They got to know each other through the music database discogs, where they found out about the similarities of their favours. They swapped their recent material and quickly noticed the potential of teaming up for musical reasons. Mash & Munkee was founded. Put Funk as the main ingredient and add Jazz, Soul, Dub and Hip Hop as spice and you'll taste what Mash & Munkee's music is all about. Their tracks get unearthed in nightly sessions on computer and phone, always swapping the next addition or change in the arrangement. After building up their myspace profile with great feedback on their first tracks, both considered regular meetings as prerequisite to improve their productions. In late 2006 the label Backslide Records asked for liscensing two of their track for bar compilations and now they are working on their second EP to be released next year.

Title:Disco For Love
Label:Zirkus
Disco For Love is a wonderfully bizarre but catchy as hell three tracker that mixes the uniquely electro with the strangely 'world' to come up with a sound that's as danceable as it wild! Unusual & Electric really have come up with something to match their name here; foot tappin' industrial beats and amazingly original 'instrumental' interplay give this EP its uniqueness and playful individuality. Featuring 'DMT 505', 'Initiator' and 'Sonar Daddy', 'Disco For Love' isn't one of those brazen and spiky electronic outings that seem to 'fly by the seat of their pants' with great sonic crescendos and huge over-zealous melodies - 'Disco For Love' is much more subtle and earthy than that; yes exactly, it's 'unusual and electric'!!
Artist:Debtonate
Title:Human Race EP
Label:Funk Weapons
Eddie Noon and James Reid whom make up the group Debtonate sent us with a track called "Human Race" a couple of months ago. The tune has been tested on all sorts of crowds, and they were blown away by the positive response. Debtonate have a unique production style, we like that they takes simple elements and makes them elegant yet funky which keeps the tracks interesting all the way through. The title track "Human Race" is a 130bpm barrage of swinging breaks, chunky guitar, tons of interesting vocals and great filter work. This track just kills for peak-time sets and its one of those rare tracks that can match the high energy of the more banging electro stuff. The second track. "Party Packer" takes a slower pace, and has some cool electro elements which are perfect for those poppers and lockers out there. On the flip, they have enlisted the help of their good pal Neighbour, whom takes the track in a more disco-house route. He slows the whole jam down, and really works the guitar in and out with his signature squiggly bass sound. Dj Love, provides the final remix, where he keeps the tempo banging and bringing in a bit more classic American break-beat flavor to the mix. We like his use of tension which really makes his remix breath a bit before rocking out.
Artist:Breakestra
Title:Lowdown Stank / Miss Funky Sole
Label:Now-Again
The Breakestra's first release, the Deep Funk classic 'Getcho Soul Togetha' came out on Stones Throw. So it's fitting that they'd come around the bend to Now-Again for a release as the band readies to record a new album. The result, two new songs from Miles Tackett and crew, see release here in vocal and instrumental form. Mixmaster Wolf provides the vocals on the A-side 'Lowdown Stank', with two instrumental jams on the flip, all produced, recorded and mixed by Music Man Miles.
Artist:DJ DRM
Title:Bhuna Beats EP
Label:Bastard Jazz
Brooklyn's Bastard Jazz Recordings returns a bubblin' and eclectic 12" of tracks from label head DJ DRM. In true Bastard Jazz style, the Bhunabeats EP is an absolutle amalgamation of sounds, styles, and flavors - cross referencing ska, dub, bhangra, and latin funk into the modern sounds of downtempo, breakbeat, 2-step and broken flavors. Kicking things off with a heavy nod to Prince Buster is 'Blinger On' - a 120BPM ska floor filler that pushes its way into a big breakbeat with a squelchy analogue bassline complete with a melodica skank and classic Skatelites-esque trumpet solo - perfect for bringing those 60's vibes right into 2008! Up next is 'Maya's Dub' - a bass-quaking joint with big drums, delayed out skanks, horn stabs and bits of organ slinking into late-in-the-game Portugese male vox - smooth enough for the headphone set and bumpin' enough for some early side movements. Flipping the record over, 'Creature Comforts' is a deep, uptempo joint with late-night synths, fuzzy tribal percussion, deep bass and a re-worked two-step break that flips on it's head into a Broken sound mid-way through. Wrapping up the record is a remix of 'Vidambana' by Chico Mann, also known as Marquitos Garcia - guitarist for Afrobeat supergroup Antibalas and accomplished producer in his own right, having released a couple of killer albums and singles on Holland's Kindred Spirits label. His remix sticks right by his signature analogue afro/latin sound, incorporating the Indian elements of the original into a funky synth heavy rocker that defies categorization but gets ears perked up no doubt!
Artist:Regal

Ex Wiseguy Regal's chop up of Wille Hutch's The Mack featuring remixes from Lack of Afro and Flevans! Dropping a heavy hitting funk remix and a killer broken builder remix respectively. The flip contains Edseven's wicked Dust Lazy Mix of Keep On and the orginal club edit of The Mack.

Combining vintage sounds & instrumentation with samples and top notch production into a genre defying melange of musical styles. From hip hop, funk and jazz to soundtracks, exotica and beyond.
Artist:Dublex Inc
Title:NHL
Label:Muto Records
Since their first release in 1998, Dublex Inc. always has been a dynamic system which is driven by four unified flavours. It's been a while since their last 12' in 2007 ('The Game feat. Ashley Slater'). Meanwhile they produced their second album which is due to be released in autumn 2008. NHL was supposed to be an album track but at last ended up with the Lounge Records & MUTO label group. Still producing distinctive 'Dublex-style' they're coming up with some dancefloor funk at its best so don't miss this one and check out the long player in autumn.
Artist:Unusual & Electric
Title:Stand On Up
Label:Zirkus
Unusual & Electric return for their fourth EP of 'chunky wobbly technoid disco'. With a solid pedigree behind them (They gave The Chemical Brothers their first London gigs) Unusual & Electric certainly know their onions when it comes to genre bending music. Taking the rather ignored 'Stand On Up' from the sample slinging Jay Stoner and adding some wooshy dubwise effects this should see some serious dancefloor action. Over on the flip Stoner returns the favour by spicing up 'Mr Palatino' with some phat horns and classic electro refrains. Feeling some love already from Rob Da Bank (Radio 1), Nimone (6 Music), Laurent Garnier, Coldcut , Ministry Radio...
